When I first laid eyes on Karl’s tattoo work I knew I was being treated to something special. No matter what style the tattoo, it’s bold with maximum impact. Then I saw his painting. F#*k!! It just floored me! This unassuming guy, who’s not much for talking, has got to be up there with the worlds best in this style. When you look at the detail involved and the amount of work he puts into it, it just blows your socks off! Karl’s pretty much a self taught artist, but his style has been influenced along the way by many great tattooists he’s worked along side such as the legendary Dominic. “I was always amazed to watch him tattoo, effortless, relaxed style - laying down amazing works of art. He made things look so easy”, and the sought after Trevor Bennet, “An amazing artist who can draw and tattoo anything”. As I mentioned Karl’s not one to blow his own trumpet, “now working and learning alongside Brad Lon and Mick Waters at Deuce Tattoo these guys just make me want to work that little bit harder, to always strive for clean lines and impact value (kinda catches your eye first off!)”Karl’s content to let his pictures do the talking and that’s certainly good enough for me!
